In Memory Of Our Sweet Dad & Grandpa

Darrell Dean Ogden, Ryan's dad, passed away on June 7, 2008. It was a day that was filled with great sorrow yet great joy. Unfortunately those of us he left behind felt more of the sorrow. However, I am sure that it was joyous for Darrell as he reunited with his loved ones that had passed before him. He had been suffering sometime with prostate cancer, heart disease, and finally respitory failure. Darrell was an incredible man who touched the life of so many people. He was one of these men who when you were around him you felt his love for his Savior. And he truely lived each day to be more Christ like. He was a very humle and kind man. He knew all his neighbors and they all adored him. He was always positive and happy. Whenever you asked him how he was feeling he always replied "I'm fine" or "today is a good day".
Darrell was a wonderful influence on his familly. I have always said to Ryan if I could pick one person you could be more like it would be your dad. And I know Ryan felt that way too. He was Ryan's "Best Buddy" and he often told the nurses taking care of him that. He was a great example to Ryan in so many aspects of life. Church, work, family, GOLFING, and FISHING. He always encouraged us to be the best we could be yet loved us unconditionally in our short comings. He has been a wonderful example also for my boys of how to be a strong man, who has great faith in his Heavenly Father. He was guided often by the spirit. And rejoiced when his children and grand-children did the same. He was so proud of all of his family. The last time that Noah saw Grandpa Darrell was at his baseball game. He was so proud of Noah. And in one of the last conversations Darrell had with Ryan he reminded him how special he and all of our children were. He was a great example to me. There is no doubt in my mind that Darrell loved the gospel and understood the purpose of being here. He knew that many sacrifices were given for us to live our lives as we do. I can't imagine him ever doubting anything with his Heavenly Father. He had great faith in him. While at the hospital one of the High Priests in the ward asked during class "How many of you are ready to meet our Savior today?" The classroom was quiet til Darrell raised his hands and said it would be a glorious day! And I am sure it was. He was also an example of kindess and giving of yourself. He was always willing to help anyone however he could. It didn't matter who you were or weren't. You were his friend and he held that dear.

I know that there will always be a void there without his presence. Especially for Connie, his true love. We will all greatly miss him. Hopefully, we can just remember the examples of his love and seek to be more like him. I love you Dad! I miss you so much!!!

All About Us

I figured we needed to keep up with the times and have our Ogden blog page like everyone else. Ryan and I are so fortunate to have these 4 amazing kids. Although at home is just the 3 little boys. 4 if you count the BIG ONE I married. He is definitely a kid at heart. But that is why I fell in love with him. It seems that it took way too long to get this family started but through lots of prayers our 3 boys have become our little miracles. I have been blessed. Now we don't know what life would be like without the 3 TAZ DEVILS in our home. I enjoy being a working "Soccer/Baseball Mom". I love to watch and cheer on the sidelines. Rye is the soccer coach. The boys keep us busy ALL THE TIME. If one hasn't thought of it, they all have. 4 wheelin' is one of our favorite things to do. It makes me laugh that the boys are amazed that their mom can ride a motorcycle "SOOO Good" and did since she was little. Ryan and I love to TIVO our favorite TV shows LOST and Survivor. When the boys are all tucked in bed and quiet(ha ha ha) we watch the shows together and debating whats going to happen. We love music. It is not uncommon to see all of us dancing and singing around the house.

Kayci, 21
Our beautiful blue eyed Kayci is working hard in school at BYU Idaho. (I know, I know BYU.... But we still love her even if it isn't the UofU) She is doing so well. She has made some great friends. We have some great laughs at pictures we find of her and her friends. Like the Underwear Super Hero's. With their underwear on the outside of her clothes and HOT looking swimming goggles. We miss having her closer though. She is always such a great help to me. Her brothers love her and want to show off for her. She decided to go to summer school. As much as we are happy to see her working so hard it also means we don't even get her for the summer. She has started taking guitar lessons with an awesome accoustic guitar she got for X-mas and is doing so well. Like her dad music just comes natural for her. We are so proud of her and all her accomplishments.

Noah, 7

Noah, 7
My sweet gentle Noah. He is definitely a momma's boy. He hates if I am ever upset at him. He is a gentle, sweet handsome boy. Unfortunately, the girls in the 1st grade think so too. My little spy's have told me that they don't ever see Noah in school without the girls following him too. Just remember Noah I am the only girl in your life til your 30. Noah is a very smart kid and does great in school. His teachers always say what a fantastic reader he is. Noah has also been playing soccer for the past 3 years with Dad as his coach. He loves to play but this year we found his niche.....BASEBALL!!!We started Noah on a team with his friends in the neighborhood. They are the METS!! It is machine pitch not T-Ball. And he has ROCKED!! It is so fun to see him hit that ball like he does. And he is doing really well in the outfield. He has been playing short stop and has really enjoyed every minute of it. We bought Noah a red electric guitar that he has been learning to play. Although we have to find a new place for lessons he has done very well. Another Musician!!

Ryder, 3

Ryder, 3
Ryder....Where to begin. Ryder is definitely the one in our family who says anything and everything that comes to his head. He usually has us laughing. (or hiding and asking people "where is that little boys mom?") Just kidding!! Rye and I often wonder where he comes up with the things he says. Most recently he announced to everyone in the church hallway and the Bishop that he had FARTED in class today. When we asked him what his teacher said he told us she threw him out started to kick him. He is so commical. I have tried to keep notes of his funny comments. Looking back at them they always make me laugh again. We realize we have played Guitar Hero as a family too much when he went to Nursery and started to sing "Shout at the Devil" from Motely Crue. He is going to be our little rocker with his air guitar and all. Everywhere we go people stop us to tell us how darling he is. With his long dark 70's haircut, BIG blue eyes, ( like his daddy's) little puca shell necklace and wild and crazy antics. He is so fun. We have yet been to a soccer game when he hasn't been dressed in Noah's old uniforms where the shorts are to his ankles, saying the cheers with the rest of the team, and begging his dad to let him play. The rest of the team just saw him as the mascot. He is pretty coordinated with the ball and has been since he could walk. He also likes to do whatever else Noah does. He wants to go to school like Noah, so every day I have to drop him off like I do Noah and let him walk to the babysitters door before I can get Trey out of the car and go in. He is also a lovey. He loves to be loved on. Having cuddly boys was definitely a gift for mom. Although waking up to 3 people in our bed is wearing on Rye and I. But I can't say no to his little voice in the middle of the night, "mommy I seep wiff you?"

Trey, 18 mo

Trey, 18 mo
MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO, MONKEY GETS IN TROUBLE TOO!!! That is what best fits Trey. He is not going to let one thing get past him. If his brothers can do it so can he. He is a goer. But also the silent and deadly type. If he is too quiet I am in trouble. And don't ever walk outside or get in a car without him or WOW you will hear about it. Even if he can't say the words you know what he is saying. He loves to play outside and would for hours. He has mastered a "crusty look". We all think it is so funny that we do things to get him to do it over and over. He has these great big eyes that melt you and the cutest curly hair. He loves to tease and like all the boys in our house (yes Rye you too) has a giggle, not laugh but giggle that is contagious. He is starting to really talk. Momma, Dada, Noah, Ryder, Bianca, Grandpa, GET DOWN, MINE, NO and unfortunately we have heard SHUT UP and a few other choice words. I wonder where he learned that Noah and Ryder. He is like his mom and loves peanut butter and like dad he likes to jam and bang on the drums. I am going to be surrounded by ROCKERS!!! And yes, he is a lovey too. He has to be cuddled every morning when he gets out of bed with his back tickled. He also likes to sing and dance with his brothers. He will go round and round and round til he falls. But he thinks he is doing awesome and wants you to watch his every move.

Rye

Rye
My Sweetheart
Well, what can I say about Rye? He is the typical "Disneyland Dad". It is not uncommon to see him wrestling with the boys in the family room, or hanging them by their feet from the ceiling so they play like they are Spiderman. Whatever is fun dad will do. Which I love. I wish I could just train him to not do it at 8:00 at night when I am trying to get them settled into bed. Rye works for Associated Food Stores and has for almost 10 years. He loves it. He is the Director of Geodemographics & Consumer Insights. He is working with a team right now that he has enjoyed so much. I don't think I have ever seen him so happy in a job as he is now. Ryan has been coaching Noah's soccer team for the last 3 years and ref'ing. He has loved it and loves seeing the kids get so excited and have so much fun. Rye is a sweetheart. He is a kind and thoughtful guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. These are just some of the things I fell in love with. He is protective of his family and would do anything for any of them. He is my best friend and I love and adore him.
